Stacey’s Month for Children in Sports.
U.S. SKI TEAMER Stacey Cook announced the start of a month-long campaign to raise awareness and collect donations to support an active childhood by participation in sports. The campaign will end with Cook’s participation in a triathlon for charity in the middle of July.
“I was fortunate to have had the resources to compete in what I love, skiing, but not every child gets that chance,” says Cook. “I would love if I could help just one kid to find a passion in sport like I have—to give them a chance to be able to live an active lifestyle by doing what they love. Sport can provide great life-long lessons in focus, drive and teamwork. I am definitely stepping out of my box by participating in a triathlon. Leaving the snow for the water will be quite the challenge for me, but not nearly the challenge that some kids face on a daily basis. Please help me with this campaign by donating, and help today’s children by making sport available to all. Anything helps.”
Also part of the campaign will be the application and selection process for the Stacey Cook/Sun Valley Ski Tools Sponsorship, which is open to all junior skiers with a valid USSA license competing in the J2 or J3 age group for the upcoming season. This sponsorship had tremendous success last year with only four winners chosen out of nearly 90 applicants. This year Cook will choose another four winner, with an additional winner receiving a custom painted UVEX helmet, just like Cook's.Click here for that application.
All donations will be given to The 49’ers Foundation and the Far West Masters Junior Scholarship Foundation. Both of these charities make a difference in childrens lives. There are a few ways to donate.
